Thanks, David Hartman.

Monday morning. It's a new day, and while I woke up this morning feeling kind of depressed about some circumstances in my life, I'm sitting here on my couch with a cozy fire in the woodstove, the sun shining in the window, listening to the dog snore peacefully in his crate, and I just can't be depressed. God knows all about my circumstances, my needs, and even my wants, and He above anyone else knows what's best for me. That's a huge comfort.

So instead of being depressed, I'm going to make my bed and get to work. There are forsythias to be hacked off and bushes to be trimmed, a walkway to be weeded, and there's always the 8-inch tall pile of filing to be done. And if I get really desperate, I can scrub the hard-water deposits off the shower. I really hope it doesn't come to that.

Raise your hand if you remember David Hartman being the host of Good Morning, America.

Ben and I used to watch that show every morning before he left for work, and at the end David Hartman always said, "Make it a good day!" That's my goal today. You do it too!

Be thankful ~

Karen

I remember David Hartman! Does that make us old????

You're right -- it's up to us to make the best of it and trust God for the rest. I'll be praying for you.

And when we finally get chickens, I will name one in your honor. Isn't that a comfort???? ;-)
