It's really free. Honest.

We're having special services (some people call it "having revival") at our church this week with evangelist Tom Farrell, so we've been trying to get the word out. The church made up thousands of cards with the dates and times, and we've been handing them out for weeks.

So today, our Sunday school class decided to have a free car wash (the church is on a major road with tons of traffic) so we could tell people about the revival. We weren't going to accept donations or anything, just wash their car and invite people to the services.

It was a beautiful day for it . . . sunny and breezy, about 85°. We got set up and had our people with signs out on the highway at 10 am.  Saturday traffic was heavy as usual. By 1 pm we had washed 7 cars.

Seven. Siete. Seben. Sette.

People just don't believe something will really be free. We even wrote "no donations accepted" on the posters. And it wasn't like we were preaching hell-fire at them. We just invited them to the revival. One woman was so overwhelmed when we refused to take money, she started crying. Over a free car wash!

Can you imagine how she'll feel when she finds out eternal life is free? It can't be earned or bought. There's nothing you can do to deserve it. It's as free as the car wash.

Be thankful ~

Karen

Last night at our Bible study, someone mentioned how they'd told the Gospel to a friend, and her response was, "there's no way it's that easy." So interesting (and SAD!) that people have a hard time accepting a gift.

Wow, that's really something about that woman and her re-action to something as simple as a car wash. Salvation is free. Jesus Christ died on the cross to save sinners. Naomi, you're right some people just have a hard time accepting a gift because it is just that "a gift" and a FREE one at that!
